2nd Annual Solar Homes Tour in Manhattan Beach

Thinking About Going Solar? This Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 9:30 to 3:30, you can visit five Manhattan Beach homes that have converted to solar – and it is FREE!
It is a progressive tour. Each of the following homes will be open for two hours.

9:30-11:30 436 33rd Street - Features: 7.6 kW power generation, 38 Sunpower solar panels, 2 inverters and balcony garden. A representative from Martifer Solar will be present to answer questions.

10:30-12:30 629 27th Street – Features: Solar powered home with double paned glass windows

11:30-1:30 1707 2nd Street – Features: 6 kW power generation (100% of home requirement), 30 Sanyo panels, tankless hot water heater, high efficiency windows. A solar representative will be on-site.

12:30-2:30 1344 Voorhees Avenue – Features: 4.5 KW Installed April 2006, 36 Kyocera KC 125GT Modules and 1-SMA Inverter. Solar-powered home; solar pump for fountain, award winning Koi pond, and waterfalls. In 2009 installed all new Energy Star appliances. A solar instructor will be at this house.

1:30-3:30 1756 1st Street - Features: Watch the power meter run backwards! Photovoltaic panels, solatube lighting and compact fluorescent light bulbs reduce electric bills a lot.
